THE PROJECT:
After reviewing the bid documents for this project, it became evident that the project clearly aligned with our product strengths. The scope of the product required on this project included: 15KV Con Edison utility switchgear, 15KV distribution switchgear each in a power control center (PCC) building by PACS Industries; 5MVA liquid filled substation transformers, liquid filled padmounted distribution transformers, dead front compartmentalized low profile pad mounted switchgear, a generator set including automatic transfer switch and distribution, and a short circuit, coordination and arc flash study. We worked closely with the awarded contractor to have our equal to the specification package accepted by the end user and consulting engineer, offer them a single point of communication for project management, and provide negotiated commercial terms each individual vendor on the project. SSL also represented the various manufacturers in included in our package scope at jobsite meetings held onsite. The project was energized in December 2012.
