THE PROJECT:
After a proactive sales call with a consulting engineer in New York City, the AKF Group, SSL was asked to provide budgetary estimates on equipment for a potential project. The bill of material accuracy, timeliness of the budget pricing, and specification assistance allowed the AKF Group to present the owner with a project that met their price per square foot requirement and allowed the project to move forward. SSL worked with all bidding contractors to issue a comprehensive and competitive bid. Hatzel & Buehler Inc. was awarded the contract and SSL assisted them commercially and technically to finalize a solution which included the following scope of work: (2) 13.2KV Con Edison service switchgear by PACS Industries, (4) JST cast coil transformers, (1) ESS Metron low voltage collector bus paralleling switchgear in a power distribution center (PDC), (1) short circuit and protective relay coordination study, and (1) NYC Advisory Board drawing submission.
